“Immerse yourself in luxury right on the beachfront of the stunning Playa Hermosa!”
The Bosque del Mar began its life in the 60’s as a series of cabins built in traditional style on the stunning Playa Hermosa beach. Since then it has grown and evolved into a beautiful, modern, luxury hotel, yet has retained its original charm. A number of lodging options are on offer, from the junior suites, decorated in delicate earthy tones, and opening onto beautiful gardens and terraces, to the ocean front suites right on the beach with stunning open air terraces and private jacuzzis.
At the Bosque del Mar you hardly have to lift a finger. The hotel has a pool with staff ready to serve your favourite drink poolside or on the beach. If you want to totally switch off, visit the Paradise Spa on the beach or, for a little more privacy, have them come to your room.
Enjoy exquisite Costa Rican gourmet food at the Niromi beach front restaurant, surrounded by an elegant interior of wood and marble.
Naturally there is also plenty to do when the relaxation gets too much! Staff will whisk you away to stunning spots for diving or snorkeling. Get an adrenaline rush by hiring your own jet ski and touring the coastland. If you are looking for something a little more tranquil, head out to secluded coves and beaches on a paddle board or take a sunset sailing tour for unforgettable beauty and serenity. There are also a host of activities in the surrounding mountains: national park and canopy tours, white water rafting, and horseback riding.
The staff at Bosque del Mar pride themselves on sustainable practices and the hotel is a pioneer in its area. They process all the water they use in their own treatment plant and recycle 70% in water gardens and toilet tanks and they are always working on ways to make water use more sustainable.
They have almost eliminated their use of chlorine and any other environmentally damaging chemicals in cleaning products, and their use of plastic straws and packaging. They are well aware such problems further up their supply chains and wherever possible ensure that their suppliers have committed to the adoption of sustainable practices.
Energy consumption is kept low through the use of fluorescent bulbs and Smart Electric Systems designed to turn off lights and air conditioning when a guest leaves their room. All suites also have solar panels to heat the water in their bathrooms.
